Wayne was born and raised in the Cincinnati-Dayton Ohio area but has been a resident of Nashville TN. since 1997.
At age 14 Wayne made his first television debut in 1970 on The Midwestern Hayride hosted by Kenny Price in Cincinnati, Ohio on WLWT. Wayne has appeared on many shows both on radio and television through out his career including The Renfro Valley Barndance in Kentucky.
Wayne's first CD in 2002 released on Country Discovery Records, "Memories Of Home" contains songs with positive uplifting lyrics.
His second CD relesed in 2004 "Traditions Run Deep" was released on the same label, containing an assortment of Classic Country songs such as "Abilene", "Make The World Go Away", "Most Beautiful Girl", "True Love Ways" and others. In February of 2005 "True Love Ways" was in the top 10 of the ECMA (European Country Music Association) charts then it peaked at the number 1 spot from March 2007 through April 2007. This CD was recorded at the famous Bradley's Barn Studio in Mt. Juliet Tennessee owned and operated by legendary producer Owen Bradley.
Wayne not only is the featured artist but is also the executive producer of this CD. He used legendary Nashville session muscians such as Hargus "Pig" Robbins, John Hughey, Weldon Myrick, Leo Jackson, Bob Moore, Gene Chrisman, Fred Newell, Lisa Cochran, Diane Tidwell, John Wesley Ryles, and live orchestral arrangments by The Nashville String Machine. The entire recording process was recorded ona Studer Revox A-827 24 track analog system and vintage tube microphones and outboard effex.
Wayne is currently an independent record producer and artist manager. The most current project Wayne produced and engineered was for a 16 year old Country Pop artist Sarah Whaley of Orange County California. The CD titled "Life Is Beautiful" was released June 1, 2008 on Country Discovery Records and is already charting on many inde radio charts in the U.S. & Europe. Wayne is an award winning composer, record producer, and audio engineer. He graduated in 1995 from The Recording Workshop - Chillicothe, Ohio.
Wayne is a freelance record producer and audio recording engineer and has worked in many Nashville recording studios such as TBN’s Trinity Music City Recording Studio, Ricky Skaggs - Skaggs Place Recording, Mikron Studio, Dark Horse, Franklin, TN.. and others.
Wayne is owner of "Kingdom Sound & Light Ministries www.waynecarter.com where holds workshops and seminars concerning audio-media ministries for church's in Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky.
