biography
Shannon Dyer was raised in the small town of Tompkinsville, Kentucky. After graduating from Monroe County High School in 1997, Dyer moved to Nashville, TN, to pursue his lifelong dream in the heart of the country music industry. Being underage made it difficult for Dyer to get into bars to sing, but he was finally given an opportunity while working as a desk clerk at the Quality Inn Hotel. It was there that he made friends with the owners, Ted and Tom Lagarde, known as the Lagarde twins. Recognizing his talent, the Lagarde twins gave Dyer the chance to perform at the Quality Inn Hall of Fame Lounge. He pulled double duty for the hotel working the front desk during the day and entertaining in the lounge at night. After a year of refining his act at the hotel, Dyer ventured into downtown Nashville and started performing at The Carousel and Lonnie's. Then his life took a turn toward the military.
Dyer enlisted in the United States Army and gave five years of Active Duty in support of our nation as a Military Policeman. Dyer's assignments included being stationed overseas in Hohenfelds, Germany, and stateside in Brooklyn, NY. While stationed in Europe, Dyer recalls the musical highlights of his duty as his opportunities to sing on both television and radio in Kosovo. During his Tour of Duty in New York, Dyer's greatest musical honors included singing "The National Anthem" and "God Bless the USA" in honor of the troops at many military functions and 'Support the Troops' rallies, as well as NBA basketball games for the New Jersey Nets.
After the completion of his Active Duty service in 2005, Dyer headed back to Music City where he, once again, began pursuing his music. He married his true love on March 17, 2007. He and his wife, Allye, reside in Denham Springs, Louisiana, Dyer also continues to serve his country in the Army Reserve as an army recruiter, making a military career out of his service. He and Allye work together with a group of very devoted friends: Lisa Jai Arnett, A.C. Clark, Tonya Mullins Grothaus, and Bronson Spears as a team to get his music played and his name known. In addition to singing and performing, songwriting can now be added to his list of musical skills. Thanks to producer and friend, Robert Ellis Orral, Dyer has been in the studio recording and writing.
Dyer's music is extremely versatile. He ranges from traditional country classics to the contemporary country music to southern rock. With this broad range at his shows, there is entertainment value for all.
