Sara Evans has done a few remakes during the course of her recording career, cutting new versions of Edwin McCain’s "I Could Not Ask For More," Barbara Mandrell’s "Crackers" and Loretta Lynn’s "One’s On The Way." But she takes the cover-song concept in a unique direction with a new version of a classic Libby’s commercial: "When it says Libby’s, Libby’s, Libby’s on the label, label, label..."
Libby’s Vegetables is celebrating September as Get Back To The Table Month, and Sara’s recording of their theme — which debuts on country radio Sept. 1 — makes her the first celebrity ever to do a version of the jingle.
"I grew up on a big farm in Missouri, and family dinners together make up my most cherished childhood memories," Sara says. "Today, as a busy mom, I make it a personal goal to cook and sit down for family dinnertime at least three times a week. That’s why I jumped at the chance to remake this jingle. It’s really a tribute to one of the simple joys of life: time as a family."
Family is, of course, a huge consideration for Sara these days. She recently married Alabama sports radio personality Jay Barker, and their combined family totals seven kids.
