Reba McEntire Is Woman of the Year

Billboard magazine has picked Reba McEntire for its first Woman of the Year award, which coincides with the Women in Music issue that will be published in early October.
That issue honors the Top 20 female executives in the music industry. Reba will be honored and will deliver the keynote address during an Oct. 5 breakfast in New York for the 20 honorees.
"Reba's all-encompassing career in entertainment makes her an obvious choice to be honored as Billboard's first Woman of the Year," says Billboard's Tamara Conniff. "In addition to her unparalleled music career, she is a published author and a critically acclaimed actor receiving praise for her work on Broadway, in films and on her top-rated, self-titled sitcom. Reba's nonstop work schedule has never kept her from making charitable endeavors a priority."
Reba says of the honor, "I am thrilled to be selected as Woman of the Year by Billboard. Although my career has taken me to TV, film and Broadway, music is and always will be my first love. I am touched to be embraced in such a warm way."
