About Me

April 2nd “The Days You Live For” Radio Release Matt Gary developed a passion for music at a young age. Raised in Kansas City he performed at school functions and events through out his hometown. It has always been a life long dream of Matt’s to become a recording artist. While attending the University of Tampa, Matt made frequent trips to Nashville to record his first demo. During this process, he became hooked and knew this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. So after graduating, Matt packed his bags and headed to Nashville. Upon his arrival in Nashville, Matt hit the ground running, writing with many of Nashville’s top songwriters. This eventually led him to Grammy nominated producer Kent Wells of Kent Wells Productions (Dolly Parton, Michael Peterson, Neal McCoy). Kent and Matt spent months writing and developing his unique sound – high energy, emotional songs that people can relate to. This in turn led him to entertainment executive Bernard Porter (President and CEO of Porter Consulting Group and COO of Porter-Gentry Productions). Matt and the Porter Consulting Group are in the process of creating a new project that will define him as a great new entry to the country music format. Recently Matt performed at Sea Ray Yachts “Aqua Palooza” opening for Soul Asylum, Cracker and Everclear. He also generously donated his time and talent while opening for Windup Nashville’s Eric Durrance (CMT Tour Artist) during a fundraiser for March of Dimes in Nashville. Matt admirably donated $1,000 of his own money. The event raised over $35,000 for the charity. With Matt Gary’s determination and work ethic… the future looks promising!
