biography
I was born and raised in Texas, and i grew up in a very musically inclined family. My mom and dad sang together back when i was a young girl, and i remember staying up late at night, just to hear them sing. I think i was around 3 or 4 years old when i started singing along with my dad, and then through the years, and then at age 12 i entered a contest, and won 2 trophies for talent. That's when i knew i wanted to be a singer. Later on, i started writing songs, toured all over East Texas, performing at opries, jamborees, fairs, civic centers, just everywhere that i could. I ended up opening a show for Miss America, for a literacy program show, and was also awarded "New Horizon Star" of East Tx. by the arts and entertainment council. I also sang a lot of gospel at various churches. I quit singing for a while, but my dream remained in my heart, where i am back working on my music career now, at full force. I am now working with other talented songwriters from Nashville, and set to record my CD in the coming weeks. I'm making some strong connections in Nashville, and plan on moving there within the next year or so. I've worked very hard toward my goals, and i will continue to do so, but most of all because i love to sing...singing is in my heart and soul, and i enjoy being on stage and making people smile through music.
