about me
I currently live in the Las Colinas area of Irving, TX and have for going on 8 years. This is the second time I have lived in this area, the first being back in the early 80's. Prior to moving back here in 2000 I lived in Baton Rouge, LA. I grew up in Southwest Michigan and had enough of the cold snowy winters which is why I now live in the south.
I currently work for a large mortgage servicing company in Lewisville, TX in the Servicing Technology Department as Business Analyst/Application Support. I have worked in the Mortgage/Banking industry going on 24 years.
I have 2 sisters and 1 brother who married my best friend, Janelle. She always has me laughing and somehow manages to get me to do things that I swear I would have never done. We lost my sister Diane in 2005 suddenly and we miss her each and every day. I have 4 wonderful nephews and 1 wonderful niece. The boys all live up in Michigan and my niece is in Baton Rouge, LA. My 2 oldest nephews are both married and have children of their own. Now I have 2 great nieces and a great nephew and my brother is a grandfather... Dang he is getting old. Ha. I was lucky enough to have my grandparents well into my 40's and my great grandparents up to my early 30's. They were all very important to me and I spent a lot of time with them all over the years.
I have wonderful friends who live all over the United States. They are all very special to me and I have wonderful memories of our times together. I just wish we all lived closer together so we could have great times more often.
Music is important to me and always has been. My grandfather was in a band when he was younger. I think that is where I get it from although I didn't get his talent. Photography is my hobby. I love taking photos.
I am very passionate about the Ronald McDonald House charities. I volunteer at the RMH here in Dallas on Saturday's and have been for about 6 years now. To see what some of those families go through really makes you stop and think about my life and I realize that I don't have it that bad. One way you can help the RMH is to save your can tabs from the soda cans you drink. They recycle them and use the $$ from that to help keep the house going by keeping the kitchens stocked, etc. etc. So save your tabs and take them or send them to the Ronald McDonald House near you
I love the Dallas Cowboy's. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom Landry several times back in the 80's as well as members of the entire 80's team... including Harvey Martin, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Randy White, Danny White, Bob Bruenig, DD Lewis, Charlie Waters, Tony Doresett, Butch Johnson and so on. Tom Landry was a wonderful human being and is missed.
Living in Baton Rouge for 8 years you can't help but become a Tiger fan. Never made it to a football game but have gone to many baseball games...
Thanks to my grandparents I became a Cubs fan. During the summer/fall months anytime you stopped over at their house and the cubs had a game you would find them in the livingroom watching the game on tv. I have seen them play at Wrigley Field several times. There is no better place to see a game than Wrigley Field in Chicago. We have also made the trip into Chicago for the Cubs Convention. What great times. Harry Carey and his "HOLY COW" and 7th Inning stretch are missed.
