About Me

Destined to be musical, Jason Lee Thomason was born into a home filled with music all the time. With a mother who played piano and sang, a father who sang with her and a sister always practicing piano and singing for church, Jason was bound to fall in the same line. At the young age of three his mother said he was hearing harmony parts and singing on key. Jason took interest in playing instruments early on. At eleven he started taking piano lessons and continued for another year or so, but never mastered reading music. He was shy in front of crowds, but his chorus teacher in his tenth grade year saw his potential and gave him the big solo in the Christmas Cantata. He finally taught himself how to play guitar and he sang in church and conducted song services for many conferences and events for about 10 years. It wasn't long before he was out of the church scene and into the rock band scene. He and his band were writing and performing originals and covers at all the local bars and festivals for a couple of years. With a wife and three young boys, the bar life just wasn't panning out and Jason knew there was a better way to express himself musically and keep his family intact. In 2007 his wife entered him in the local South GA Colgate Country Showdown. After winning that, the spark lit a huge fire inside fueling his passion for performing LIVE once again. He picked up band members (and long time friends) Tory Harris on keys and Chuck Burnett on drums and won the local North FL Showdown as well and is currently scanning the Southeast for more gigs to keep the fire burning. Jason is a registered songwriter with BMI and his publishing company, Jason Lee Thomason Music, is through BMI as well. Jason’s songs, “Let Go”, "Rose Colored Glasses", "Call It A Day", "Couldn't Fix His Heart" and “Southland” have obtained lots of airtime on radio stations WQHL 98.1, Power Country of Lake City, FL, WAAO of Andalusia, AL and WKAA 99.5 of Valdosta, GA, Rose Colored Glasses was also featured on WKDF 103.3 Nashville, TN as part of Billy Block's Locals Only. He spends a lot of his spare time writing new songs to go and record. His first self titled album, Jason Lee Thomason, was releaseed on June 13, 2008. Some of the songs can be heard at www.myspace.com/jasonleethomason and at www.ourstage.com/jasonleethomason where he has achieved much success in the rankings at that site. Jason, his wife Leonda and their three sons currently live just south of Nashville, TN in Spring Hill.
