James Robert "Jimmy" Martin is a "Christian/Positive Country Music" singer/songwriter & recording artist from Bellville,Tx..He performs at churches,rodeos,fairs & festivals around Texas.After years of performing in bars & honkeytonks & even making it to Nashville to record under a record deal,he gave up the neon lights for a much brighter light....The light of Jesus Christ. While in Nashville recording his 1st country CD "KNEE DEEP IN TEXAS" he was moved by several country gospel songs being pitched by publishers. Although his producer and manager were totally against including these songs on a "honkytonk" CD, Jimmy insisted on 2 of the songs not knowing that this was just the beginning of the change that GOD had planned. After "KNEE DEEP IN TEXAS" reached 12 on the Indie Charts & receiving airplay worldwide, Jimmy quickly became a popular entertainer around Texas durring 90's. opening for national acts such as Lean Rimes,Sara Evans, Asleep At The wheel, Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall and many others. On Oct.31,1999 everything changed after answering Gods call & turning his life over to Jesus. Now a new CD is in the works that will feature a more positive side of the country music. Jimmy still plays the great country music he's always loved along with Christian Country music performing for Festivals, county fairs, weddings, parties, dances, trailrides and rodeos. He's also sharing his music and testimony at Churches and Christian events around Texas. Jimmy and his family are members of The All Around Cowboy Church in Sealy, Texas where he is a member of The All Around Cowboy Church Band, playing Country Gospel music western swing style.
