I don't usually get this personal
Mon. February 11, 2008
but I wanted to let you all know that I probably won't be on DR much this week. My boyfriend (and soon to be fiance) is deploying this week. Valentine's Day to be exact...yeah, I know...GREAT timing. He's in the Army Reserves and this is his second tour to Iraq. He is the love of my life and I'm just devastated that he's leaving but I'm so very proud of him. He'll be gone for 12-15 months. I'm going to be lost without him. He's been my rock and always so supportive of everything I do...well now it's my turn to support him. I'm still going to push ahead with my album and my music, but for the next couple weeks I'm going to have to adjust to life without him. He'll still be in the United States for a couple months (they're heading off to another base for more training) so I'll be able to talk to him pretty frequently but things of course won't be the same.
I just wanted to let everyone know, not for sympathy, but to let you all know what's going on. I'm usually pretty quick to thank folks for listening to my music and returning e-mails and comments so I didn't want anyone to think I was ignoring them. DR is like a family and I really appreciate all the love and support that I've been shown here.
I'd really appreciate it if you'd all keep my boyfriend in your thoughts and prayers.

Holly, I just wanted to ask you to pass along my sincere thanks to your boyfriend/fiance for serving our great Country. I served in the USAF back in the late 70's so I understand how important military service is to our freedom. I also want to thank you for being such a supportive girlfriend/fiance to him as it will be hard for him while he is deployed. I am blessed with your music, and am blessed knowing that you are so supportive of our military. Please know that you and your loved one will be in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings, Greg

This Marine Mom thanks your fiance' for his service. I know how tough deployments are, I've been through 2 of them. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like information for online support groups.

I will keep you and your boyfriend in my thoughts and prayers. I strongly support our fighting men and women who are serving in Iraq. I pray to the good Lord that they will all come home safely. BTW, your music still sounds fantastic!
