If you want to see more events going on around you, or maybe you see too many and want to see less, first log into your account, and then follow these few steps:
-click on the 'Events' link towards the top of your profile
-click the 'Settings' tab
-in the 'Event Radius' drop down list, select a larger or smaller distance from your area that you wish to see upcoming events listed.
