About Me

Hi i'm not sorted yet so please visit my links and this page will be updated soon: pepper Hi I'm Dave Hall otherwise known as djpepper based in Gloucestershire,UK, I have been on the country music scene now for about 14years,In which time I have had the privilege to work with most of the top country acts in the UK, As dj and Compere, So where do I start? I have been involved in music from way back in the 60's working in a record shop selling 45's & albums "you remember those black round shiny thing's that had a hole in the middle and you laid flat and lowered an arm with a thumpin great needle on to it to play it" ahh the good old day's, I was hooked pop, rock, mowtown, anything, Over the following years I was a roadie with local bands, Helped other folks run disco's, Then in 1984 my daughter was born and at the time i was going to nightschool on photograhy course, I got asked to do a wedding disco by a workmate so I dived in the deep end and sold all my photograhpic gear and bought a sound system I persuaded a friend to help me (he had lights!)and the partnership lasted 7years until my buddie got told he was goin to have to give it up to get married!!,I wanted to carry on and enlisted the help of my brother in law as roadie (the country bit is coming!)This worked well and when we wer'nt giging we would as lads do go out for a drink taking it in turns to drive, This went on for quite a while and were getting fed up with the same pubs, One eve on leaving a regular pub my mate spotted a poster for some live entertainment at another local we had not tried for following week, That sat night was my mates turn to drive we arrived at pub and to my horror saw that we were goin to see a country act "at the time country music rated as low as jazz i hated it!" Suffice to say that after I showed my dissaproval I was told in no uncertain terms you "don't want stay walk home", Reluctantly I stayed and after a few drinks I really enjoyed it, The rest as they say is history we went to the venue a few times and we got to know the folks well, I then got persuaded to back the artiste (Kieth Dobbs) at a country club, And the bookings started to come in local linedance functions (I used to dance honest!)party's ect,On visiting a local club I was approached by an old workmate who wanted me to help his club out they had lost there disco I did the first one for free they liked me and 12years later i'm still there!(must be doing something right or not chargin enough)and whilst at the club got my first invatation to work a festival from what was at there hieght one of the top bands of the day "The Longriders"...to be continued... I am currently heavely involved with PlayCountryUK an Internet radio station part of the PlayRadioUK Network of 10 Stations for more information on PlayRadioUK go to the Official PlayRadioUK website
