About Me

Feel free to visit me at craigallenmcwhortermusic@myspace.com Craig Allen McWhorter, the artist who's in a "Lone Star State Of Mind", or is he the soft spoken, lonely ballad that cries, "You're In My Way", or the strong willed confident voice that sings, "I Can Do Anything"? The answer clearly lies within his lyrics, voice and performance. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas into a family of diversified musical tastes. From traditional country music, rock, gospel and blues. "My Grandpa was all country and my folks were all rock, I got the best of both worlds" craig says. He composed his first song at eight years old for his mom's birthday. "It was a silly song but she loved it. I even used a tennis raquet as a guitar to sing it to her, which crazy as it seems, led to me entertaining my folks friends when they came over. I would put on my own little concert for them with my tennis raquet and singing to something like AC..DC or Def Leopard. It was all in fun" he says. He began writing constantly and started singing and performing in churches at the age of fifteen then to local talent contests which led to his first paying gig at "The Kings Room Club" and other local clubs in Dallas. It didn't take long for his own style of writing and singing to emerge especially his love for country music. The response from his fans in Dallas and the local buzz that began to follow him was part of his motivation to move to Nashville in 1993. In Nashville, Craig has been a guest performer at the Nashville Palace, Broken Spoke, The Turf and other clubs. "Live At Libby's" radio show and a guest on "Dave Nemo" radio show several times. He often performs for local charity benefits to help the community. Craig has worked as a demo singer for "Panda Productions" and "Joe Hand Productions". He also has had three songs published by the "Gatlin Brothers Music Publishing". He is a member of BMI and now owns his own Publishing Company. Craig is passionate and driven about the songs that he writes and performs, and they are both equally important. He continues to constantly seek that song that has never been written, one always reaching for new heights and new ways to say something different. His love for music shows in the deep lyric content of each song he composes, and through his rich natural voice. He is always consisitent and original, whether performing live or in the studio. Craig Allen McWhorter is an original singer, songwriter with a unique style and vocal. His music is sure to capture the hearts of those who listen.

 • Mindy My Wish for YOU in 2008!!!

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vase line and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be tears of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ... May 2008 be the best year of your life!
