Rosebud Records was formed in August of 1995 by Vera Cavet-Vanderpool, president, husband & partner (record producer) Fate Vanderpool and the late Fed Vanderpool, (brother to Fate). Fate Vanderpool joined the musicians union when he was only seventeen years old, when his friend Chet Atkins signedand sponsored him in the local 257.
Fate Vanderpool as a musician, songwriter and producer has worked with many of Nashville's greatest legends including, Chet Atkins, Hank Garland, Grady Martin, Bob Moore, John D. Loudermilk, Bob Ferguson, Felton Jarvis, Dick Heard and even the late Elvis Presley.
Vera Cavet-Vanderpool is a noted songwriter with over three hundred songs to her credit. She was encouraged by Randy Travis and Lib Hatcher to come to Nashville to pursue her songwriting. She worked with Mike Shepherd of the Ray Steven's music group for two years and learned a lot. Encouraged by Mr. Shepard, She formed her first publishing company Cavet-Vanderpool Publishing/BMI with songwriting partner Fate Vanderpool who would soon be her husband.
Vera is also a noted journalist and well respected for her music reviews. Vera is the editor for the Nashville News Newsletter and has had two cover stories in the Nashville Music Guide, she also wrote a business column for the Nashville Music Guide for one year until she suffered some serious health problems. Vera currently writes a column for HotCountryMusic Magazine online on Myspace, and reviews Major and Indepent Country albums. She and husband Fate Vanderpool are currently writing his memoirs, that will include his personal stories of Chet Atkins, Elvis Presley and Kris Kristofferson and more.
The independent label is dedicated to helping new talent have the opportunity to find their "voice" and get exposure on mainstream radio. Rosebud Records also "shops" new artist to major record labels in Nashville, TN. Rosebud Records has received positive response from Music Row.
Seven of our eight artists have been featured on Macountry and CDX the two leading country radio samplers in the world, along with such country greats as Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, George Jones, George Strait and the Dixie Chicks. Our artists have also been featured on the MACC (Mainly Adult Christian Contemporary) Rosebud recording artists have received many favorable reviews, including reviews by Robert K. Oerman, the leading music critic in the world.
Rosebud Artists have appeared in many national publications including Music Row Magazine, Amusement Business, The Nashville Music Guide, and Country Music People (UK). Rosebud Recording artists have opened for many major recording artist including: George Jones, David Houston, Bill Monroe, 4-Runner, Johnny Lee, Jeannie Kendall, Trace Atkins, Chad Brock, Darryl Singletary, Johnny Rodriquez, Shane Minor, Benita Hill, Diana Trask, Kitty Wells & Johnny Wright, Donna Fargo, Stu Philips, and Charlie Louvin.
In 2007 J3 performed as a feature act and opening act for multiple concerts and festivals. Roster of some of the artists they have shared the stage with include; Joe Nichols, Little Big Town.,Ty Herndon.
Black Hawk, Cole Deggs And the Lonesome, Donovan Chapman, Emerson Drive, Heartland, Jason Michael Carroll.
Rosebud Records artist Brice Henderson completed a 6 week tour of Japan. Allison Owsely has opened for Kenny Chesney. Other Rosebud Artists have toured Europe. Jesse Wilson is currently recovering from surgery and lives outside of Nashville, TN with his wife Kim, the daughter of the late Merle KIlgore. Due to his current Chemo schedule Jesse is not currently recording right now. J3 is currently preparing for their Spring and summer tour, then another fall and winter tour.
