Inspiration James Taylor, Dan Folgelberg, Allison Krauss, Vince Gill, Jimmy Buffet, Gordon Lightfoot, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flats, David Gates and Bread, The Eagles, Seals and Crofts, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Kenney Loggins, Dave Loggins (who does my all time favorite song: "Please come to Boston," and songs in any genre that have an interesting and memorable melody and lyric that evokes images and feelings in me.

biography
Randall Johns began writing songs in the late 70's; had some moderate success in the 80's with one cut on a major label, and cuts by two indie artists. Then after getting sidetracked with a band, and a little burned out, he stopped pursuing music as a full time profession.
Now, after over 10 years, He is back with a new attitude and a broader life experience to draw from. Randall is a 1985 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a degree in "the Business of Music." He lives in the small town of Douglas, in northeast Alabama with his beautiful, supportive wife, Wanda.
In June of 2007, Randall placed in the top 5 of the of the Song of the Year international songwriting contest in the country category, with his song, "Mississippi Moon," and again in October in the Adult Contemporary category with "The Blues Are Comin' Home."
