Singer/songwriter/versatile entertainer, Shelia Byrd had a capitive audience at age five singing at church where her father pastored in Anacoco, LA. At age seven she was singing harmony with her mom, and at age fifteen she was touring with her her brother in a gospel group and started recording in Nashville. "I love my gospel roots" she says "I remember getting off the school bus almost every day and heading straight to church just to play and sing over the PA system."
Shelia standing almost 6 feet tall, took full advantage of her height by modeling fashion clothing. She eventually moved to California, where she was the host of CBS-affilate television show. She continued to follow her dream of music by singing in nightclubs and at fairs. She also recorded advertising jingles.
Shelia moved to Nashville to pursue her dream of music. She landed a role as a feature artist in an upcoming movie called The Jam. "The role they have me playing is a country music singer trying to make it in the industry -- piece of cake, that's me!" says Shelia, who is putting her heart and soul into country music.
Shelia was signed to a two year contract with Rosebud Records in November of 1999. To date she has recored six songs and released two singles If it's True and When the Party's Finally Over.
Both singles were made available for radio distribution through MACOUNTRY and the Rosebud Sampler. Shelia was featured on the cover of MACOUNTRY. Shelia was also featured on the cover of the Nashville Music Guide where Editor Dan Wunsch did a a full cover story of Shelia Byrd on Rosebud Records for the Nashville Music Guide.
When the Party's Finally Over, is featured track 5 on the Rosebud Sampler Volume 4, 2002. Shelia Byrd was the Rosebud Spotlight artist on the Rosebud Sampler Volume 5, If It's True is the featured number one track on Rosebud Sampler Volume 5, 2002. Shelia Byrd's photo is also featured on the Rosebud Sampler Volume 5. Shelia is wearing a jacket by Manuel.

If It's True and When the Party's Finally Over have charted in more than twenty countries worldwide thanks to fans like you. If It's True peaked at Number One on the country general and new country chart's on mp3.com in 2001 and again in 2002. When the Party's Finally Over peaked at number two, right behind If It's True on both charts. Then When the Party's Finally Over also scored Number One on mp3. Both singles were recorded to be featured on Shelia's Rosebud debut album, which do to vocal problems at the time, she never completed her Rosebud album, before her contract expired.
Shelia has opened for many great country artists including George Jones, Trace Adkins, Ty Herndon, David Houston, Johnny Lee and in 2001 for Daryll Singletary in Nashville, TN. Shelia Byrd band members consisted of, Catherine Styron on keyboards, Chad Hunley on drums, Leon Watson on bass and Randy James on guitar, while Shelia herself plays on the piano and guitar. Shelia was the featured model for Nashville / LA clothing designer Manuel in 2001. Manuel has dressed all the stars from Porter Waggoner to Marty Stuart. Check out Shelia in her cool Manuel outfits on the Rosebud website. Shelia Byrd made her Fan Fair debut at the Rosebud Records booth in 2000 and appeared again in 2001. The fans waited in line to get to meet Shelia and have their photo made with her. She signed autographs and meet with her thousands of fans for hours. Shelia looks forward to geting back in the studio and meeting with her fans again in 2007 in Nashville, TN.
Shelia will be appearing at a benefit concert in honor of Bonnie Austin on June 9, 2007 in Nashville, TN, Fan Fair week. This is the only performance she has scheduled for CMA Fan Fair 2007. All proceed will be donated to the Morning Star Sanctuary for Battered Women and Children.

Rosebud/Shelia thanks 4 the add. Man u have a one of a kind voice and sound. I truely love it. The music is so strong and heart warming some time.I truely can see that U have lots of talent when u sing . Because u make the words come across just like every word in the song is coming from your heart as u sing.2 me when a person can do that 2 a song.
