Very few people go through life doing what they feel they are meant to do; Stacy Donahue is one of those fortunate few. Seemingly born to sing, she’s jumped at the opportunity to perform, both nationally and internationally, with choirs and musical productions at every stage of her educational and musical career. A classically trained music educator, Stacy spent her first two years after college graduation teaching in the public schools of her native Nebraska before choosing to follow her own serendipitous musical path, first to Chicago and then to Nashville.
A multi-dimensional artist, her passion for singing may only be matched by her enthusiasm for songwriting. It was with a song she wrote herself that she was selected as a finalist from the Chicago area to compete and perform in the Colgate Country Showdown at Country Thunder 2004 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Stacy outperformed all other individual performers, taking third place behind two band acts. Nashville was waiting.
She spent two years playing gigs down on “Broadway” before deciding to truly take control of her career. While many singers in Nashville are content to make due with the talent they have, Stacy has chosen to take time off from the stage to hone her skills. “I recently read a quote that said ‘the only way to predict the future is to create it,’” Stacy says. “And that’s exactly what I’m doing every single day.” A piano player since the age of 8, Stacy took up guitar over a year ago, and now spends her time practicing, writing music with some of the industry’s most established names, and performing demos.
Inspired by Whitney Houston, Amy Grant, Mariah Carey, Martina McBride, and the indomitable Faith Hill – all women with big voices and phenomenal careers – Stacy is driven to be not just a singer, but an entertainer. “Music is my love,” she says. “I look forward to waking up everyday and getting to do exactly what I feel like I am here to do – share music with people.”

Hey! I went out to see Jon last night at 3&L, and I was hoping to see you there too, but I realized that last night was your night at the Tin Roof. Hope it went well!!! Hope to see you soon!

Hey pretty girl! I'm so sorry that I could not make your show. Greg and I were in the studio. I know that you rocked it out. I hope that you are doing well and please continue to invite me to your shows:)
hey, why dont you get me some songs to pitch so i can get you another cut!!!!!!! when you get me songs, i'll go in the studio, hows that! you sounded amazing last night, when you gonna let me sing harmony with you?
What a awesome acoustic duet on YOU CAN'T HOLD ME BACK. Who sang with you Stacy? Great job. Don't underestimate the quality of what you both bring to the table, vocally.
Awesome!!!! Why don't you check your schedule and let me know what works for you. Karen and I are kinda flexible for evenings. I will be gone this Friday until Sunday and Karen has a friend coming in from Oregon from Friday until Tuesday. Maybe we can hook up one evening next week?
Stacy Thanks for taking the time to write. Get very few replies these days. I tried to add Jon but his page won't let me. Glitch!! I guess. I see you and Lisa Manning have a few comments. Are you attending her Bluegrass show in Burlington? I am trying to get there myself hopefully like last year. That was a great opening for her CD. Jennifer and Michael McLain I believe will be with her again and I sure want to be there to see them again. Jennifer's Mom and Dad use to live close and we'd play music together, but they moved so we don't get the chance to pick as much as we use to. They are super folks and we still try to stay in touch. Maybe this show we'll get together again. Hope so! Nice to talk with you and Thanks for keeping me informed on your music. I enjoy hearing you very much. Steve
