   About Ash Bowers

Ash Bowers biography is a story of perseverance...and it defines the age old adage that if you believe strongly enough in yourself, your dreams and your talent, and you work hard every single day and don't give up on your goals - then your dreams really can come true. Ash's dreams appear to be coming true, and this is his story....so far.. Ash Bowers began his career at the age of eight with the piano, influenced by the charismatic performances of rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis. At 10, he began performing onstage at church, state fairs and talent contests, and by the age of 16 he had switched to guitar and was writing his own original music. Born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, Bowers continued to hone his skills as a musician and a songwriter while soaking in the down-home qualities of life in the South that would later shape the direction and tone of his music. In a span of two short years Bowers saw his career in music catapult from that of an open-mic night regular to fronting a nationally touring band, a testament to his talent as an artist and to his tireless work ethic. In 2003, Bowers formed progressive country band Forty5 South, where Ash's signature songs and his band's dynamic stage presence and high-voltage country sound soon caught the eye of the AFE (Armed Forces Entertainment) group, who took the band oversees to Asia, Guam, the Marshall Islands, Korea and Japan to entertain in front of thousands of US troops. After returning home from the AFE tour, Bowers took his songs and entered a studio to record the band's debut album, Too Much, Too Fast, which was well-received by critics and propelled the band to the status of hometown favorites. Over the course of the next few years Bowers and Forty5 South toured the U.S. extensively, logging as many as 300 shows each year and performing for crowds as large as 15,000. In the spring of 2006 Ash decided to take a break from touring and focus more of his time and attention on his writing, while also making the rounds on Music Row, with the hopes of finding the right label partner that believed in him and his music...but to no avail. After each label meeting and every label showcase there always came the same generic response, "we really love your sound and songs...please stay in touch and keep us informed on your career". Knowing that giving up was not an option, Ash continued to hit the road with his band on weekends while commuting from Jackson to Nashville (some 320 miles round trip!) during the week to write songs. Then in September of 2007, Bowers luck was about to change when his manager, Bruce Larson, was able to get his music in front of Broken Bow Records President, Benny Brown. Brown was so instantly taken by the songs and the voice that he heard coming from the 21 song cd that he invited Ash and his band to showcase for him and his staff at an upcoming company party in California...to which Bowers and Larson emphatically agreed. After this all-important set in front of a crowd of 300+, Ash and his band received an over-whelming response along with a standing ovation...and a Broken Bow recording contract and publishing deal soon followed. Today, Ash is in the studio with legendary Nashville record Producer, Buddy Cannon (Kenny Chesney, Reba, Sammy Kershaw, George Jones), where they are currently working on Ash's major label debut scheduled for a Summer 2009 release. So with perseverance and hard work, backed with real life songs about love and heartache, family hardship, hometown pride and the distractions of youth, Bowers continues to embark on his own form of artistic expression in pursuit of an enduring career in Country music...a career of timeless music which is about to be displayed for all the world to hear. ---- LINKS: *Saddle Creek Artist Management - saddlecreekmngmt@yahoo.com *D'Addario - www.daddario.com *Gibson Guitars - www.gibson.com *Buddy Lee Attractions - www.buddyleeattractions.com *Pollstar - www.pollstar.com *Broken Bow Records - www.brokenbowrecords.com ***
