Too many to name them all. The biggest influences are Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Johnny Cash, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe and early Alabama.    About Rowdy Johnson
Born February 13th 1973 in Apopka, Florida, Rowdy Johnson is without a doubt a throwback to the Outlaw Country movement that was going on during that time. After the death of his mother by the hand of his then step-father, Rowdy went to live with his uncle and aunt at the age of 4. Although life had dealt him more than his share of tragedy and pain, he was insulated by his entire family. Always distant and a self proclaimed loner, Rowdy was a dreamer from an early age. It wasn't long before he embraced his uncle and aunt as his parents and he is quick to corrent anyone that sees it any other way. Although there was no shortage of love, alcoholism and financial struggle clouded his sunny skies. It wasn't until his adult years that he started taking those good and bad times and weaving them into lyrics that are truly a look into his soul. He idolized those that did the same. He found himself drawn to the singer/songriters of the time like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr and eventually Waylon Jennings. It was Waylon who captivated Rowdy and quickly became the measuring stick that all others would then be measured. The mix of country, southern rock and blues was the building blocks of Rowdy's music today. Not one to label himself, Rowdy is as versatile as the heroes he looks up to. Growing up in Florida, he got a heavy dose of Southern music and rebel pride which he wears like a badge of honor today. Never one to be politically correct, Rowdy is an outspoken American who is proud of his heritage, Country and fellow veterans. You can find him today as I did, playing the honky tonks, county fairs, rodeos, military bases or anywhere there's a fan hungry for music with meat on the bone. When asked why he feels drawn to the Outlaws of Country music like Hank, Waylon, Willie and Cash, Rowdy gets a serious look in his eye and says ..."those guys lived it and didn't need Nashville or anyone else to tell them what they should sing about or sound like". And after listening to any Rowdy Johnson song, it's evident that he is of the same mold. In a time where Nashville has lost its way and is becoming more and more like pop music, Rowdy Johnson is a breath of fresh air and is determined to set things right again. As long as he's around, Country's in good hands... -M. Fischer ________________________________________________ God bless our fallen military heroes and God bless our fallen Country heroes. -Rowdy

Do not grieve. Misfortunes will happen to the wisest and best of men. Death will come, always out of season. It is the command of the Great Spirit, and all nations and people must obey. What is past and what cannot be prevented should not be grieved for ... Misfortunes do not flourish particularly in our lives - they grow everywhere.
