about me
Let's see...I'm a small town girl and I've worked in law enforcement for 29 years. I never used to listen to country music except when my Dad had Hank Williams,Sr. or Patsy Cline on. I liked their music. That all changed in '96 when I unexpectedly saw Garth perform at the 100 Anniversary of Frontier Days in Cheyenne,WY. There he was with 2 tractor trailers parked on each side of the stage and during "Ain't Goin' Down Till The Sun Comes Up", he would run across the stage and up one ramp to the top of the trailer, back down across to the other. I thought WOW, this is contemporary country? I was going through a very dark period at the time and you might say country saved my life.
When I returned home, I started listening to country radio, buying country CD's and going to country concerts. My second concert was Tim McGraw and I was hooked. I absorbed country music like a sponge and I've developed a sincere appreciation for the pioneers who set the stage for those who've come along after them. I even got to stand on the stage at the Ryman Auditorium and got goose bumps. Last year I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting the "Hagg" himself at a show he did in PA and that was really cool. l've been to probably about 100 shows and I have met a ton of artists. I've been to Nashville and Fan Fair(it'll always be FF to me) a number of times and I hope to retire there. I have traveled extensively to country concerts and put about 45,000 miles on my car doing so. If it's too far to drive, I've been known to hop on a plane to see some of my favorites. (My favorite group is BlackHawk.) I flew out to WI in 2005 to meet with friends and over a 4 day period we followed BlackHawk from Kenosha (where we had a dinner/auction with them), to Watertown, to Sheboygan to Green Bay and I even got to spend time with them on their tour bus. I've also become an annual attendee at the Country Concert festival in Fort Loramie,OH. Hello Rio Grand!
