Carmen Rasmusen - Musician
Born March 25, 1985 in Edmonton, Canada, Carmen was blessed with a God-given gift of performing. An accomplished musician, Carmen has performed in public since the age of five.
Carmen is a prolific song writer, composing both music and lyrics which highlight her very unique voice.
At the age of seventeen, Carmen achieved instant fame and notoriety when she became a finalist on Fox’s 2003 “American Idol”.
In 2003, and still a senior in high school, Carmen, along with thousands of others auditioned for Fox’s “American Idol”. She was originally cut from the top 200, but was later chosen as one of the judges’ nine favorites to be on the “Wild Card” show along with fellow idol, Clay Aiken. From there, she became one of twelve finalists that would compete for the “American Idol” title. As a finalist, Carmen competed on weekly episodes of the show in which one competitor per week was eliminated. Carmen’s voice, charm, and movie star good looks, helped her make it into the final six before being eliminated.
After the “American Idol” season she has been in constant demand. In the summer of 2003, she toured the country with the other finalists, performing in over fifty concerts.
Carmen has appeared in a recent remake of “Pride and Prejudice” where she made cameo appearance. Carmen anchors the soundtrack to the film, with her single “Be With You”.
Carmen was recently invited by Fox producers to move to Hollywood and pursue an acting career. Although she loves acting, Carmen has her heart set on a music career.
Carmen completed her first 4 song EP album in December 2004. Her first full length album is currently being put together. Most of the songs on the album are of her own composition demonstrating that she is multi-talented and has the right stuff to achieve super star status.
