Album Review: I’M HOME Carla teams with songwriter Stephen Dorff to create this pop-colored Country album, rich with piano, strings, and harmonies, layered over passionate and artistic lyrics. The best track may be “Every Word You’re Thinking,” penned by Dorff and his co-producer Milton Brown. It’s the song of a woman who’s not afraid to say what’s on her partner’s mind. That’s typical of this album, featuring bold songs and fearless styling. This is apparently Carla’s first album, and she put everything into it, including great songs, beautiful production, and stellar musicianship.

About Me

Born and raised in the heart of Dixie, Carla’s passion for music has been strong since she was a little girl. She grew up singing in church and to this day remembers the feeling she got every time she stepped on stage. She knew in her heart that singing was what she was meant to do for the rest of her life. Carla grew up in Mobile, Alabama. Working in the family business for over 10 years, Carla decided to pursue a dream early in 2007. Myspace was the key when she found local songwriter and award-winning filmmaker, Milton Brown. After meeting with Milton, the two realized that this dream could very well happen. Carla says, “it was all about someone in the industry believing in her and taking that leap of faith and encouraging her to believe that her dreams were just as important as the big stars in Nashville”. Weeks later, Milton Brown introduced her to legendary songwriter, producer and composer Steve Dorff. After months of searching for great material, Carla landed on a 10 song album titled “I’m Home” produced by Steve Dorff and Milton Brown. She continues to see where this journey may lead and enjoys every second of the dream she was able to fulfill.
