biography
Many fans of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. are tired of the media making a big deal out of his standing compared to other race drivers.
If Dale Jr. makes it in the top ten for the Chase on any given year, well that's great.
If not, we still back him. 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In fact, if Dale Jr. is in a race and happens to leave early, we still want a report on our driver.
Even if Junior is watching the race from the pits eatting a hamburger.
Let us know, cause that's why we are listening or watching.
We don't stop what we are doing on the weekend, just to see the race and hear about the newest driver of the week.
We're here for Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
As the chorus in this song, "White Number 8", states,
"Junior is the redneck sheriff, of the oval track,
if you don't believe me,
just look at all them red hats".
So radio and TV media, you look in the stands at your next race.
Count the Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans.
See who backs this sport, It's the Dale Jr. Nation.
THANKS to my friend Chad Van Rys,
singer, songwriter, guitarist, for cutting this guitar/vocal for me.
Mr. Van Rys cut this song, live, playing guitar and doing the vocals, one track, no overdubs.
Chad is amazing, I think he could write a hit song from the "nutrition facts" on the back of a water bottle.
I can't wait for America to hear some of his work once he releases it.
Anyway, Chad was in the studio working on some of his music.
I asked him if he could mess around with this song if he had time.
My son, Kirk Wesley Boland, Jr. and my brother Charlie Boland had been working on this song with me.
I really didn't like my music on this song.
So I just sent Chad a lyric sheet with no music, and he put the song to music and gave it his groove.
As we have all been busy on other projects, we never added our latest rewrites to round out the song.
However, I decided to just go ahead and put this song out there as a tribute to Dale Jr. after I read what he said about the media.
Dale Jr. said the media was making him pretty miserable always talking about the Cup Chase and where his standings were from week to week.
SO, DALE, THIS SONG'S FOR YOU.
Respectfully,
Kirk W. Boland
