Inspiration Every song that has ever made me laugh, cry, or want to jump in my car and drive to who cares where, Love, Loss, Beginnings, Endings, Appreciation, Forgiveness, Passion, Dreams, Pain, Loneliness, Happiness, Friendship, Family, Laughter, Tears, Hope, Vulnerabilility, and Simplicity...cotton candy, high heels, the sound of my children's laughter swirling in harmony, four muddy paws jumping on my white pants, the smell of rain in Mississippi, and the sun bouncin' off that stained glass cross in the church where I grew up.
biography
My name is Vanessa Reeves. I am from small town, Mississippi. I grew up in the same house, went to the same school and graduated with the same 30 or so kids that I started kindergarten with. I've always had a fascination with words, and music, and my teachers encouraged me to write. I graduated from the University Of Southern Mississippi in Psychology and worked in my field for several years. The kids I worked with changed my life and I was blessed by the time I spent with them, and the fight to help them. I am mother to ten year old identical twin daughters who are the heartbeat of my life. I can think of nothing I would rather do than to see my children smile, sit down with a pencil, and scribble some lines that become a song. I've had a string of Indie cuts, and a major hold or two. Most days I'm running trying to keep up with this perfect little tornado that is my life. I love movie theatre popcorn with the chocolate raisins thrown in the same bag, married my first college boyfriend, hate mayonnaise so much that I can't even put it on your sandwich, and walked around as a child insisting I wanted to be a stock broker. It all makes perfectly no sense at all and yet it's all perfect. These days I am writing and smiling!!!!
