About Me
Jeremy Johnson & The Lonesome Few are an up-and-coming country band based out of Oklahoma CIty, OK. Their style can best be described as country with an attitude. Jeremy Johnson grew up on a ranch in Oklahoma. His family put a lot of emphasis on music. His father played in a band that toured locally. His grandmother influenced her grandchildren to play an instrument at an early age and by the age of 10 Jeremy was playing piano and soon took up the saxophone. His love for all music was evident. However, he held a special place for the music his grandparents listened to. Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys were always on their home turntable. As Jeremy got older, he realized that country music, specifically, outlaw and honkytonk styles, were the music he wanted to play for audiences. After playing this style of music solo for tips at local BBQ joints around central Oklahoma for a few years, Jeremy finally found a group of musicians that shared his love for the outlaw and honkytonk styles of country music, and in the summer of 2006, Jeremy Johnson & The Lonesome Few was born. After honing their skills in clubs around Oklahoma the band has just released their first CD, Sides and Lines, which consists of ten original songs and a Rodney Crowell cover.
