I live in Nashville and work as Nashville Creative Director for Toronto-based ole', Canada's largest and most successful independent music publisher. In addition, I am an accomplished singer, guitarist and songwriter, and have played hundreds of gigs over the years as a solo artist, and in duos, trios and bands of all kinds....
I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Nashville in 1985 to finish high school at Hillsboro H.S. I then got my Music Business degree from Belmont University in 1991. I started in the mailroom at MCA Records in 1994, while also becoming the MCA "in house" guitar player. I accompanied several of our artists including Helen Darling, Bobbie Cryner, and Alecia Elliott on retail and radio tours all over the U.S., while MCA covered my spot in the mailroom with temporary subs. In October of 1996 I moved up to MCA's A&R dept., where I found songs for Trisha Yearwood, George Strait, Reba, Gary Allan, Lee Ann Womack, Alecia Elliott and Sons of the Desert. I also signed two artists to the label, Shannon Lawson and Jessi Alexander. I left MCA in 2002, and moved on to become an independent songplugger from 2003-2005, joining ole' full time in 2006 as Nashville Creative Director. As a songplugger I have had cuts with Faith Hill, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Emerson Drive, Ronnie Milsap, Crossin' Dixon, Doc Walker and others.
