about me
I hate doing these things... I'm not that interesting, really. I'm older than I look but a lot younger than I feel. I live in the frozen North East of England (well, it's not literally frozen, but it feels like it) but I think I was destined for somewhere warmer. I spend far too much money on holidays to not-very exotic former airfields and the like, to watch a bunch of often overpaid, sometimes not paid at all young men driving far too fast. My New Year's resolution was to stop doing this, but as I type, the other page is open on flights to Barcelona, coincidentally set for the date of the German touring car championship round there...
interests
Movies
My taste in films is firmly stuck in the past, and I couldn't even tell you the last time I went to the cinema. Favourite film is Breakfast at Tiffanys.
TV
I don't really watch much- which begs the question, what do I actually do with my time? For one so totally unathletic, I watch quite a lot of sport: motorsports (have I already mentioned this?), rugby, tennis... I like travel programmes too, although they do depress me a little.
Books
I have an English degree which I appear to be afraid to use. Too many books to mention, but my favourite is Thomas Hardy's 'Jude the Obscure'. I'm currently reading Michael Palin's latest, and on my shelf lined up for next is Bill Bryson's biography of Shakespeare.
Food
I don't eat meat; I'd like to claim it's because of some great ethical reason, but really I just don't like it. Other than that... I'll try most things. I have a much laughed at phobia of jelly though- I can't bear to touch the stuff.
