Inspiration Chris Scott Bio!
It's been a long hard road for Chris with a couple close calls with major labels. Off his first two indie releases he did a few stints opening for bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Blackfoot, Allman Bros. Band, and Tom Petty with The Brotherly Love Band, who enjoyed a run on local radio over the southeast with the song "Cant Find My Way Home", and Soul Tramp, who toured extensively up and down the east coast.
Establishing himself as a solo artist with "Hard Livin", Chris was able to bring in Double Dragon Studios headed up by Damon Johnson of Whiskey Falls, Brother Cane, and Alice Cooper fame, to produce and lend Johnson's guitar skills to "Hard Livin". Now Chris and his Lovin 44s have brought in Eric Watters from CADDLE and formerly of Suburban Love Junkies to produce the new batch of songs for "Get Your Guns".
Since the release of "Hard Livin", Chris has opened for such acts as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Three Doors Down, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, and Blaine Larson. He also appeared on Smart Country TV in Nashville, and on the WOTM TV show, Birmingham Nights. He's also gained the confidence of several independent radio stations in Alabama who play his music, such as Thunder 92.7, WKUL Country 92.1, Alabama 810 AM and Big 95.
Chris is also the face and voice for regional Toyota dealerships Tundra Territory add campaign. Writing jingles and appearing in commercials has been a sideline for Chris in the past, but this time Toyota has contacted Chris exclusively to represent them in radio and television commercials to help boost sales for their number 1 selling trucks, the Tundra and Toyota Tacoma. WHERE THE THUNDER ROLLS!!
Not only does Chris write songs for The Lovin 44s he is also involved in writing songs with Damon Johnson once again for the purposes of shopping songs to the sophomore effort of Damon's band "Whiskey Falls" and other major label artists in Nashville. In addition to lead vocals Chris also handles the duties playing rhythm guitar and harmonica for The Lovin 44s.
For Fans Of Band Bio
Chris Chamness of Jasper Al. is on lead guitar and serving as one of the primary co songwriters of The Lovin 44s. Chamness although young in age, has cut his teeth in honky tonks all over the nation flashing his badge of influences from the old school telecaster masters like, Eddy Shaver, Waylon Jennings, Don Rich, Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Danny Gatton and Ray Flacke. Chamness loves to play all styles of music, but considers chicken pickin to be his forte and makes no buts about it. Just listen to how his style stands out on tracks like "Redneck On The Run", "Shake It Off “ and "Too Damn Country", from "Get Your Guns".
Chamness started his musical journey at the very young age of 13 playing in nightclubs and doing studio sessions around the Muscle Shoals area. His first acclaimed session was with the Grammy award winning group, The Temptations. It was those rhythm guitar tracks that inevitably landed him in The Alabama Music Hall Of Fame as a music achiever.
His next task was to become a founding member of the band Coupe Deville who opened for such acts as, Brother Cane, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Black Oak Arkansas, and Vallejo. After that ended he relocated to Nashville in pursuit of songwriting and polishing his guitar skills as the bandleader for Freefall records recording artist, Daylon Wear which led him to touring all over the nation opening for acts such as Willie Nelson, Pat Green, Jack Ingram, and many more nationally known Texas artists. He later went on to play with Copperline in the southern region college circuit. Since then Chamness has focused on writing marketable songs, live performances and recording with The Lovin 44s.
On lap steel, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar is Ben Scott. Ben hales from the Birmingham area and has played with several nightclub acts in the southern region, but has served as on of the most dedicated members of The Lovin 44s for the past two years. His influences range from such acts as The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and many other southern rock and bluegrass greats. It should be easy to pick out Ben’s melodic sensibility in the tracks recorded for "Get Your Guns". Vocal ability is also one of Ben’s strong points as he handles the duties of singing high harmony with Chris in the live shows and in the studio.
Also on Guitar and harmony vocals is Brandon Kimbrell, referred to by most as "Red". His influences also come from telecaster masters and southern rock greats. Brandon has toured the nation doing sheds and festivals with several artist but his most recent stint has been with The Wayne Mills Band opening for many of country music’s best known acts. He has many shows under his belt and proves it with his amazing skills and stage presence.
On Bass guitar is Jason Parker, commonly known as Slink who brings musical theory, knowledge and experience to the band. Commonly known to his band mates and friends as "Slink", Jason is one of the country’s best bass players. It shows in his performance and he has also toured alongside Kimbrell with the Wayne Mills Band allover the United States.
On drums and percussion is Jim "Bano" Boyd. Bano cut his teeth performing at festivals and clubs with acts such as Koko Taylor and Head East. Bano also plays at numerous reggae festivals in the southeast. Bano is a key player in The Lovin 44s and brings a flare to the band that can’t be matched.

Mix up a batch of moonshine, high grade racing fuel, throw in a little gunpowder, ignite it with a stick of dynamite and watch it burn! That's what you get when you experience the rowdy, rough and ready Lovin 44s. Christened by a line from the Johnny Cash classic "Cocaine Blues", The Lovin 44s are exploding on the scene with their brand of dirty south outlaw country music that will shock and awe you like the bombs of Baghdad. Parental advisory is recommended if you don’t want your kids to start blowin up stuff.
Headed up by Chris Scott, who has been punching away at the industry for several years now, The Lovin 44s are almost done with expected 2008 release of "Get Your Guns". Chris' third indie release "Hard Livin", finally got the attention he was looking for from Nashville, but he never stopped searching for the live band he could write and record with that would push him over the top. With Chris Chamness, Ben Scott, Brandon Kimbrell, Jim "Bano" Boyd, and Jason Parker on board, " Get Your Guns" may prove to be the runaway train that carries them all right into American white trash fame.
Right now you can find The Lovin 44s in honky tonks and festivals all over the nation pumpin out original music and classic covers by Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam, and Waylon Jennings. They also throw in some top 40 country and a slew of classic rock songs that keep the crowds jumping on the dance floor all the while conducting a pure grass roots movement to promote the much anticipated debut release of "Get Your Guns".
