Inspiration Probably my biggest inspiration has been having a very hard life. I can always pull from that. Of course I have favorite singers and songwriters, but I tend to listen more to my "inner voice". I feel that I have many songs left to write, so I hope that that means I will be around for a while. I seem to become more and more in touch with my own feelings and the feelings of others the more songs I write.
I enjoy the process of songwriting because finding the right lyric is like locating the exact piece for a jigsaw puzzle. If it is wrong, it doesn't look right on paper and it certainly doesn't sound right. The great writers out there just learn what works for them.
For Fans Of My sound is kind of different so I would say that it is difficult for me to list who I sound like. I don't really follow a specific artist or a certain sound. When I start writing, I usually stop listening to all music to find whatever melody or idea comes to me naturally.

biography
I was born in Chicago, Illinois the oldest of four children. I grew up basically as a "tomboy" and a "class clown". And was popular in school. Due to my Dad's profession we moved around a great deal so most of what was memorable for me were my years in the Midwest. We lived in Columbus, Ohio and Middleton, Wisconsin. Those areas really shaped me as a person. I traveled and sang a great deal with the local choirs and high school performers. But I suffered a lot from stage fright. So I performed periodically at weddings and annual plays but never fully pursued it.
Eventually I moved to the East Coast and modeled for a while but I finally ended up married and living on a huge farm with my husband in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. I spent years with him working on our house located on the farm that was over 200 years old. This was the time that I learned about the artistic side of myself. Needlepoint, gardening, painting, sewing, etc.
Deep down inside I still thought about being an entertainer and I would often sit and cry after watching "the Grammy's or the Oscar's" because I wanted to be a part of that world so badly. Of course that eventually led to my divorce and I came out to California to pursue my dreams.
Since being in California, my appearance has changed because people are very conscious of how they look here, but the inside has remained the same. The farm girl inside brought me to begin writing country music.
So I have big plans to continue on as a Country Singer/Songwriter and write as many songs as I can. I am beginning to travel back and forth to Nashville and develop contacts there that are instrumental in helping me pursue my dreams.
