biography
John Patrik was born in Houston, Texas and raised in "passa get down dena". He moved to South Houston as a teen and attended school. Deer Park was his backyard and he was often cruising Center Street on Saturday nights during his high school years. On school nights, he would sneak out to go ride bulls in the arena at Gilley's. This is where he fell in love with live country music. He moved to what he calls his hometown, Alvin, Texas in 1991. John Patrik received vocal lessons at South Plains College in Lubbock, Texas. He learned the methods developed by Seth Riggs, founder and President of Speech Level Singing Method (SLS).
He created Suthern Junkin Records, which gave him the creative ability to create the music the way he feels it. He has recorded with guitarist John Stahaley formerly Bad Company, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and Robert Palmer (Might as Well Face it You're Addicted to Love), Steve Palousek and Randy Corner.
John Patrik is Alvin proud and an even prouder Texan. He is proof that if you can "believe it, you can achieve it". His down home persona makes you feel completely comfortable and he will have you laughing before you know it. There is never a dull moment with him around. He says that laughter is his favorite sound and that he truly believes it can cure all that ails you.
John Patrik has performed in and around the Houston area at places such as Tumbleweed Texas, Turtle Club, Blue Angel Bar, Stetsons and many more. He has currently been performing at benefits for American Cancer Society, The American Heart and Lung Association in Alvin, Texas and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He has also performed for the Texas Redneck Games and other events at Shiloh Ridge in Alto, Texas.
John Patrik has one CD recorded. “10 Kindsa Whiskey and Strange Perfume” which was released on December 30, 2006. He has also recorded a music video which accompanies the title song of his CD. The video has been sent to SXSW, CMT and GAC. He is currently working on his second and third CD, a soundtrack to the book and movie “Heart of Mine”.
His music can be heard on XM Satellite radio where four (4) of his songs placed in the top 100 of a national mix.
