Harris Music Group, is an artist development and promotion company, located on Music Row in Nashville. The company was created out of a love and life time of music by Ginger Harris Hensley. Ginger, formerly from Bristol Virginia, has been singing and performing onstage since the age of 7 when her grandfather bought her an upright piano and enrolled her in lessons. Ginger originally sang bluegrass music in Southwest Va, and North East Tennessee, while in high school and performed with many different music and theatre groups, Ginger attended college in Johnson City, TN where she majored in music and studied vocals. She began to write her own songs, record her own demos and thus formed the Tennessee Thunder Band. The band traveled all over the United States playing any venue to get exposure. Ginger signed an indie deal in Nashville in 1991 and her single "When Faded Love Was Just a Country Song", went to # 2 on the indie charts. Ginger and her husband Speedy moved to Nashville in 1993 and she worked as a Radio Promoter for Encore/Dove Song Records. She was promoted to Director of Promotion for the Indie Country and Christian Country Labels. She worked on the promotion teams promoting such artists as Shenandoah, Dolly Parton, Charlie Pride, Benny Wilson, Susie Luchsinger, Johnny Rodriguez, Davis Daniel, Perfect Stranger, 4-Runner, Shane Sutton and the Kinleys. Ginger worked on the special Heath Schuler project with Bob Bennett and Encore Records and became the assstant director of the Encore Label working with new artist development, promotion, management and bookings. In 1995, Ginger formed Harris Music Group and has worked with a vast number of artists, guiding them on the do's and don'ts of the music business preparing them for presentation to major labels. While working in this capacity, GInger continues to play clubs in Nashville and surrounding areas . She has helped to acquire major distribution for new projects to music outlets and coordinated radio and media tours including in-stores and concerts in many different cities. Ginger created Nashville New Artist Country Tours, where she worked with non-profit organizations to help with their financial needs. Ginger has worked in many studios singing demo vocals for songwriters and doing backup vocals for various artist projects. Ginger currently represents AW Rose and The Tennessee Thunder Band.
