Inspiration I have been inspired to persue a professional career in music by many different people. My family, my friends, and even perfect strangers. I was captured by the idea that I could have an impact on someone through what I love.
For Fans Of George Strait, Garth Brooks. I grew up listening to both, and the heartfelt music that they've recorded is what I developed my style with.

biography
First of all, I’d like to say that I really appreciate all of the support that I’ve received from family, friends, and even perfect strangers. It means a lot to me when someone listens to or views material that I’ve created, and gets something out of it. I enjoy the feedback. I also enjoy getting to know the people that are listening to my stuff. I find that meeting someone new is always an adventure.
In this blog I would like to thank everyone for the support, and tell a little bit about myself.
I was born in Statesville, North Carolina on September 22, of 1987. I lived there until I was ten years old. I began singing at age eight, when my grandparents pressured me to sing a gospel song at our home church. I’ll admit that it was more of a fear than anything else when I started. I was afraid of the people. I was afraid that I’d mess up. I suppose I could have quit at any time, but something kept me drawn to what I was doing.
Over time, I realized that my fear had grown into passion. I was no longer worried about what people would think. I became more interested in the idea that I could change a life through music.
Over the course of my childhood and early teen years, my family and I moved frequently. After leaving North Carolina, I lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Maine! I’ve learned to adjust to new communities. I’ve made new friends everywhere I’ve gone. One thing I’ve brought with me everywhere is music.
When I turned 15, I decided to try my hand at writing. The first song I ever completed was a gospel song called "Jesus in our Hearts". I didn’t write my first country song until 2005, when I penned "A Few More Miles To Go" for a graduating class at my high school. It’s message rings so true, and I feel so fortunate to have created a song that has reached out to so many people.
I only hope that I can continue to write, perform, and eventually engineer heart-felt music. I truly believe that if I can change or reach out to even one individual, I can call my journey a success. -DG
