I grew up in the rural area of western Pennsylvania. The area was comprised of many farmers and they loved their country music. We only lived about 50 miles from the famous WWVA Capital Music Hall in Wheeling, WV. Many of the artists who performed at the Wheeling Jamboree every Saturday night also made their way over in our area and played at the fairs and get togethers.

I remember as a small child a place called Golden Oaks Park. It was just outside of Rogersville, PA and my grandfather ran the sound system for the old country singers. He later opened his own place, Indian Trail Park, and every Saturday and Sunday afternoon there was a show on the outdoor stage. Those old pickers and singers would come from miles around to stage their talent and entertain the country folk. Those were great days and they have provided me with lots of good memories.

I always loved music and started singing when I was a young boy getting ready to enter high school. It wasn't until the last 10 years that I really got somewhat serious about it. I know that I'll never be a big star and I never set out to be. I only want to sing a classic country song that, for just a few moments, takes you back in time and helps you to recall a memory in your life. I hope by doing so that I can do my part to help keep alive the memories of those great singers who paved the way with their traditional country songs.
