biography
Brian Clayton & The Green River Band consists of 6 of the finest country musicians in the area. Brian Clayton, the band's leader, wears many hats consisting of lead singer, front man, songwriter, acoustic guitarist, booking agent, PA engineer and recording engineer and webmaster. A performer his entire life, Brian was the drummer in The Swinging Johnsons for many years, before forming The Green River Band. Brian has released and self produced 2 Cd's, "Extended Play" and his brand new CD "Singles Out". Lead guitarist Mike Zack is a veteran of the tri-state country circuit. His virtuosic, authentic country sound is the culmination of all the great country guitarists that came before him. As well as performing, Mike is a full time private guitar teacher. On pedal steel, we have Bob Miano, another country veteran. Bob has played with countless musicians in the area. Bob transforms every song into the best country can offer. Our keyboard player, John Mcdonaugh, adds everything from honky-tonk piano, horns, strings and even banjo to the sound of the band. John is a full time musician and is also the band’s arranger. Bass player Jeff Gray keeps the groove down. Jeff is a full time private instructor in trumpet, bass and guitar. His eclectic taste in music gives the GRB’s bottom end a distinctive country flavor. Jeff also runs this Myspace site. Keeping the beat is drummer Bob Masucci, a longtime blues and rockabilly player. His diversity of styles also contributes to the band’s unique driving sound. Bob owns a full time business as well as teaches private drum lessons every day. He hosts our rehearsals at his home rehearsal and teaching studio and is owner of the famous Blue Van (see our pix on this site). Bob also safety drives us to all our gigs. BC & the GRB has played in many of the areas best venues, including The Whiskey Café, The Honky Tonk Saloon, The Wyld Horse, Matty T's Roadhouse, Don’s, The TK Coral, Seasons and numerous gigs at Ballys Mountain Bar at the Wild Wild West Casino in Atlantic City, as well as many private parties. They are also the backing band for contestants for the Colgate Country Showdown, playing radio station finals for WAYZ and state finals at Hershey Park Amphitheater and The Topsfield Fair in Massachusetts for 4 years running. In addition, they have played a wide variety of county fairs and fireman fairs throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is the backing band for country artist Jasmine Morgan.
