biography
No stage is too big or too small for Amber Hayes. From entertaining residents of family-owned nursing homes as a child in rural Weleetka, Oklahoma, to competing in national competitions, and performing at fairs and festivals across the south, Amber has used her captivating, country vocals and commanding stage presence to connect with all audiences.
Amber has been singing and performing since she was a little girl. At five, she began studying dance and voice and for seven years, she was a member of "Oklahoma Kids," a well respected, traveling music organization that has helped develop talent such as Blake Shelton. Going on the road to perform across the region gave her invaluable stage experience - she was able to hone her skills as a solo artist as well as a performer in large musical productions. At the ripe, old age of eight, Amber was hosting her own 30-minute Country music show, “Amber and Friends” at the Oklahoma City and Tulsa State Fairs.
Amber’s talent and performances have garnered a plethora of recognition and awards. She was chosen as one of “America’s Ten Most Beautiful Children” by Globe Magazine, crowned “Junior Miss of Oklahoma”, was a National Finalist in “America’s Kids”, and was a finalist for Disney’s television show, “The Mickey Mouse Club” along with Britney Spears, Christina Aquilera, and Justin Timberlake.
In 1997, Amber's vocal talent was heard during an Oklahoma performance which was attended by Grand Ole Opry member Jean Sheppard. After the show, Sheppard promptly invited Amber to sing, as her guest, on "Ernest Tubb's Midnight Jamboree," a Nashville-based live radio program. Little did Amber know then that this would be the first of several guest appearances she’d make with some of the Grand Ladies of the Grand Ole’ Opry. Jeannie Seely and Helen Cornelius have also invited Amber to be their special guest on the famous show. “I consider getting to hang out and learn from some of the great women of Country music a privilege. I try to soak in all I can from them”, says Amber.
Since moving to Nashville a few years ago, Amber has wisely used her time. She was the lead in the musical “Spitfire Grill”, had a major role in the musical comedy “Could It Be Love” starring Seely and Cornelius which was performed at the Ryman. Amber is always working to further develop her songwriting and acting skills and is playing as many songwriters’ nights as she can.
