Inspiration The persons I look up to the most are Reba, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland and Rascal Flatts!
biography
I was born on May 28, 1980 in Tallahassee, Florida where I currently reside (nope I haven’t run away yet). I have to say that looking back now I was blessed growing up. My parents divorced when I was 1, but my Mom re-married and I got a sister and a brother who I love dearly. Plus my parents worked together peacefully to raise me in separate homes. I’m thankful that I never needed for anything. My Mom was basically the sole bread winner of the house so things were tight. We didn’t go on vacations or get new school wardrobes each year, but we had what we needed to survive plus a little every now and then. I would visit my Dad every other weekend which was not nearly enough, but I cherished it none the less and he loved to spoil me. I married my high school sweetheart at age 19, bought a house at age 20, had my first child at age 21 then my second at 24. I had always wanted to stay home with my children so I bought in to several Direct Sales ventures and tried tons of “get rich quick” schemes all because I knew that I wanted to work for myself not Corporate America! I loved being the one to raise them, but still something was missing. It wasn’t until Late 2007 that I finally “woke up”! I have always loved to sing and have always secretly wanted to be a singer. I sang all through school and in church as well as endless nights of karaoke and even wrote a song at the age of 17, but I chalked it up to being a “childhood fantasy”. It wasn’t until I listened to the book on CD called “The Success Principles- How To Get From Where You Are Now To Where You Want To Be” by Jack Canfield (the co author of the Chicken Soup For The Soul Series), then I read “The Secret”, then remembered the Bible telling me to “Ask and you shall receive, knock and the door shall open”, etc… then my niece heard me sing one day and told me I sort of sounded like Martina McBride it all hit me like a ton of bricks!!! I was put on this earth to share my voice and songs with the world and it was time I acknowledged it! I love attention, I love the spot light, I love being on stage and at every concert I attended I pictured myself being up there! I would literally get chills just thinking about it. In fact I even cried when I saw Reba (my BIGGEST inspiration!!) So I auditioned for America’s Got Talent and Nashville Star, but no luck. Then I gave letters to Larry the Cable Guy, Bucky Covington and Jake Owen asking for advise or help… anything, but still no luck (I know their really busy and probably get those sort of requests daily)! I then realized that I would have to do it the hard way if I was going to get anywhere. I have written several songs… well lyrics so I needed to put a melody and music to them. I am currently teaching myself to play guitar (with a little help from a teacher) so I hope to get some music up soon. I hope to get to Nashville and sign a record deal so that I can fulfill my dream, to touch each life I come across with song and relationships. I am also planning something special for after my record deal that will hopefully be a yearly ordeal. I can’t say what it is now, but please be patient because I PROMISE you it will be worth it!! Please check back often for updates and music! I would also love to play around town so if you own/ know an owner of an establishment who showcases local talent, please let me know! Thanks for all your support and prayers! Alexis Driggers ..
